2015 Year End

my top 10 albums of the year I wish i could have squeezed a few other favorites (Goldlink & Earl predominantly) but hey *kanye shrug*

artist-album(favorite song)-description

Honorable Mention Logic- the incredible true story (Stainless)- The first half of this album is more of what we have come to expect from logic witty punchlines and decent beats but the second half of this album is elevated both sonically and conceptually)

10. Future- Dirty Sprite 2 (thought it was a drought)- you couldn’t go ANYWHERE without hearing this album! While the lyrics aren’t always there and listening to the Album as a whole is a struggle you cannot deny the HITS

9. Wale- The Album About Nothing (the Bloom AG3)- Wale’s album to date. If you were a fan of More About Nothin you will find something to love

8. Jay Rock- 90059 (90059)- The OG of TDE presents himself with a strong foot forward since the cliques rise to fame

7. Drake- if youre reading this its too late (Legend)- 6 God (or Quentin Miller) pulled a Beyonce on us and did crazy numbers. This album like Futures fades in and out with the quality but you cant deny the hits

6. Joey Badass- B4 DA $$ (on & on)- Simply Great NYC rap Joseph Badmon comes through with Bars

5. Travis Scott- Rodeo (Maria Im Drunk)- not as street influenced as his mixtapes were but nonetheless a great album full of punk hip hop that refuses to abide by any of the rules (my favorite song has young thug and Justin bieber NO RULES AT ALL

4. Pusha T- King Push (untouchable)- dark as hell! A very short and tightly wound album filled with Bar after bar. You know a rapper is confident when they leak the lyrics before the song

3. The game- the documentary 2.0 (On Me)- This album can be overwhelming at times due to the amount of content but the games return is as grandiose as we could have expected

2. Vince staples- summertime 06 (lift me up)- BARS BARS BARS!! A backpackers dream album/artist

1. Kendrick Lamar- To Pimp A Butterfly (You aint gotta Lie)- I could literally write another thesis on this album. It might go down as one of the best of this decade let alone this year
